“They say I have a sweet ass, nice tits, a real pretty dress. They say I’m their future wife, or I’d look good with their dick in my mouth. They try (and probably succeed at times) to take pictures down my shirt. They ask if they can get my number, they ask where I live, why I’m not smiling, why my boyfriend lets me walk around by myself. Then they ask why I’m such a bitch, if my pussy is made of ice. They say that they never do this, as though I’ve somehow driven them to inappropriate behavior and deserve it. They say they’re just having fun, trying to pay me a compliment. Pretty frequently they get mean, slipping into a loud tourettes-like chant of bitch-whore-cunt-slut.
Before you try to tell me that it’s because I take my clothes off for a living, let me tell you that this started way before I was 18. Let me tell you that every single woman I know has at least one truly terrifying story of street harassment and a whole bunch of other stories that are merely insulting or annoying. Let me remind you that in a room of pornography fans, who have actually seen me with a dick in my mouth and who can buy a replica of my vagina in a can or box, I am treated with far more respect than I am walking down the street.”
if a man steps over your boundaries be sure to coddle him and let him down with the same force that a feather falls to the floor, or else you are a cunt.
today i was walking back to my fiances house (less than a minute walk away) after stopping at an atm.
i was wearing leggings, boots and a long sleeved stripped shirt.
two men in a car honked for over two seconds at me as i was walking through the parking lot. when i turned around they were smiling and waving. i flipped the off, and kept walking. after that, they honked a second time for the same amount of time, only their suv was closer to me and i hurt my ears. i turned around, started at the for a fully thirty seconds, and flipped them off again. finally, their car drove up next to me and honked for a full two seconds, right in my ear again.
i was not breaking any traffic rules, i was not offending anyone, i just happened to be wearing tight pants.
this is the treatment women get daily, and the treatment they get after standing up and defending themselves. there was no justice, there was no shame- there as just two men, in the safety of their car, honking loudly and grinning at a woman less than 500 ft from home.
if i had stepping in front of their car and called them out on their bullshit they would have honked louder, made more of a sene, called me disgusting names and everyone would have taken their side because the mean old woman couldn’t take a joke about men harassing her and hurting her ears and frightening her in the process. no doubt they laughed as i tensed up from their noise, no doubt they do this to dozens of other women thinking this is perfectly acceptable. and so does society.
This dudebro sure has a way with words.
(and by the way, I’m pansexual, not bisexual, but I think trying to explain the difference would go right over his tiny head)
